Effective 16 July 2026.
These terms govern your use of Twain (the "app") and your purchase of a Twain Pro licence. Twain is provided by Pixelite SL ("we", "us"). By downloading the app or buying a licence, you agree to these terms.
The Twain viewer is free to download and use for viewing Markdown and MDX files, with no time limit.
Twain Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the editor and saving, PDF and HTML export and printing, folder mode, reading themes, and presentation mode. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Pro for your personal or internal business use on Macs that you own or control. You may not resell, sublicense, share, or otherwise redistribute your licence key. A 7-day Pro trial is built into the app so you can evaluate Pro before buying.
Your licence covers Twain 1 and every update we release for it. A future major version may be offered as a separate paid upgrade. If we release one, your Twain 1 licence keeps working in Twain 1 for as long as you want to use it, and you are never obliged to move.
Prices are shown in US dollars. A launch offer of US$19 applies until 16 September 2026, after which the regular price of US$29 applies. Applicable taxes (such as VAT or sales tax) are added at checkout and shown before you pay.
Your purchase is made through our reseller, Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle handles the transaction, tax, invoicing, and payment processing, and is the seller of record for your order. The Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase.
Twain Pro is delivered digitally. After a successful purchase, your licence key is sent to the email address you provide at checkout, usually within a few minutes. To activate Pro, open Twain, choose Enter Licence from the app menu, and paste your key. The key is checked on your Mac and works offline. If you do not receive your key, check your spam folder, then ask us to send it again.
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. If Twain Pro is not right for you, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will arrange a full refund. Refunds are processed by Paddle back to your original payment method. You can also request a refund directly through the Paddle receipt you receive by email.
You agree not to circumvent or disable the licensing, to redistribute the licence key, or to use the app unlawfully. Except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law, you may not reverse engineer the app.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error free. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
We may update the app and these terms from time to time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by a new effective date on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Andorra, and the courts of Andorra have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
