Made for repos full of docs

Agents fill repositories with plans, reports and documentation faster than any human files them. Opening the folder in Twain gives all of it one window: browse in the sidebar, keep the interesting files in tabs, and search everything at once with results that open on the matching line.

Validation that points at the line

Broken relative links and missing images are the classic failure of moved documentation. Twain validates both and reports each problem with its exact source line, in the app's diagnostics and in the CLI. Remote URLs are checked only when you ask, never automatically.

A companion, not a silo

Twain has no vault, no database and no import step, so it sits happily beside Obsidian, git and whatever else owns your files. It opens the folder in place and leaves it exactly as found.

Questions

Does Twain import or copy my files?

No. It opens the folder in place and works on the files where they live. There is nothing to migrate in and nothing to export out.

Is project search fast on big folders?

The scan is streamed and cancellable, reuses the workspace's prune rules to skip what does not matter, and groups results per file with line context as they arrive.

Can it check external links?

Yes, on request: a user-initiated check in the app and check --remote in the CLI, with a timeout and bounded concurrency. It never runs automatically and never in Quick Look.

Is the folder sidebar free?
